Facilities Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Facilities Manager
DEPARTMENT: Maintenance
FSLA STATUS: Non-Exempt
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Vice President & General Manager

POSITION SUMMARY: Maintaining and repairing all property.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

I. Maintaining the Venue to OSHA and Safety Standard

• Participate in monthly safety committee meetings.

• Ensure that all safety standards are met according to OSHA properties

• Ensure that all safety equipment is available and kept in stock (fire extinguishers and safety glasses, etc.).

• Coordinate with all operations managers to ensure property is kept up.

• Maintain accurate records of all projects and or repairs required by; Health, Building,

• Fire, or Eco-system codes and requirements.

II. Mechanical Operations

• All plumbing, electrical and climate control systems are operating to standard.

• All light construction work is completed in a timely manner.

• All painting work is kept clean and up to standard.

• Maintain all artwork throughout the Venue.

• Accurately determine the scope of and feasibility of a project, determining the appropriateness of doing the project in-house, or to use an outside vendor.

• To forecast the scope and anticipated cost of a project. To hold vendors accountable for forecasted costs of projects done by outside experts.

• Maintain a Preventative Maintenance Program for; equipment, lighting, furniture, fixtures, and other facility properties.

• Negotiate, where appropriate, outside preventative maintenance contracts for HVAC, refrigeration, kitchen equipment and any other facility properties.

• To ensure that the physical plant and its assets are protected by using a traceable Work Order System. This is also for the staff to notify of needed improvements throughout the Venue.

• To follow budgetary guidelines and controls in order to maintain costs and seek approval when it is necessary to exceed costs.

• To monitor the cleaning crew and their responsibilities to ensure proper cleaning standards are met.

III. Maintain Appropriate Relationships with Local Vendors

• Ensure that relationships with local vendors are open and honest.

IV. Grounds and Landscape

• Maintain flowering and mulching in the Gardens and surrounding areas.

• Responsible for the upkeep of all exterior plants.

V. Supervision of Department

• Provide a positive environment within the department.

• Maintain open communication with the staff.

• Conduct evaluations of the staff, outline staff goals, and propose compensation recommendations.

• Ensure that staff training is complete and satisfactory.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Working Knowledge Of:

 

• Plumbing/Electronics/Woodworking/Painting
• Federal, state and local laws pertaining to Ecology, Health, Safety and Sanitation.
• Simple Accounting Procedures/Some Computer Skills
 
Skill In:
 
• Some Computer Skills
• Variety of Mechanical Trades
• Proper lifting techniques

Special Requirements (Licenses, Certificates, Professional, etc.)
 
• High School Diploma required.
• Related Job Experience with two years in a similar position preferred.
